Success and scales.

Success happened yesterday. I made it to my goal of having only dinner for the day.  It was tough though, that's not a lie.

That meal at the end of the day though was amazing and satisfying, and it makes me appreciate the food I have available when I need it.

I will weigh myself monthly from now on. I will weigh myself on March 1st and will not do it again until April 1st. The scale only shows a tiny fraction of what you body is going through while on this journey.

I feel like I have more energy during the day, almost like an adrenaline rush. I clean the house, keep active, and can't seem to sit still, my mind is constantly racing to another thing.  My brain feels like its in hyper-drive, sharp and focused and ready to get things done during the day.

Funny how that works huh? Fasting is pretty amazing stuff, and for once in my life I think I am doing something amazing and beneficial for my body and mind. Keep going!

One meal a day for a month...Lenten promise

What's up?! So I have goal that will start today...I completed a 26 hour fast yesterday, and I went to church while fasted.  It was amazing and I felt closer to God.  Since Lent is coming soon, I will attempt one meal a day for Lent. So I will fast all day and eat dinner with my family. That will be the plan. I will way myself on March 1st and let you know how the progress is going.  I will post pictures every Friday, this could be fitness photos or mirror progress photos.  I am pumped!

Since it is Monday, I will start today.

One of those messed up days...

Had one of those "cheat" days yesterday.  You know, eat like a pig day. It sucked, but it didn't suck.  I haven't eaten in the morning for about two weeks now, so yesterday I started eating in the morning and it didn't stop until 7pm at night. What fasting has taught me in these two weeks is how much food I eat during the day, how I was eating even when I wasn't hungry, that is not good.
Ok, so now that my "cheat" day is out of the way, I am going to stop messing around here.  It is going to get serious, no more fucking around with my diet, I am full in, I want to be lean and strong by summer, it has to be this way. Get it done!!

Snow Day!!

Today, my wife Shannon has a day off from school because of too much snow, so it's officially a snow day for our family!  Snow days are special aren't they?  I remember as a kid, waking up and listening to the radio to find out if school was canceled or not.  The feeling I got when it was canceled was joy of going back to sleep. Ah, the little things in life.
So my daily goal to lose weight is to get through my fasting window, and don't go to crazy on the foods I eat while on my feeding window.  16/8 is too easy for me.  I can breeze through 16 hours without eating now, when before it was tough.  20/4 is still tough though.  I would like to get to a point in my fasting where 20 hours is not bad at all.  Right now the real problem I see is making healthy food choices after fasting. That is the real challenge I face in this journey, how can I maintain a healthy weight after I lose it, and I am going to lose it, no matter what! :)

Back Again...2/12/2017

It's been a while. There are a lot of new things going on with my fitness that I would like to share. So I have been pretty consistent with my fitness since I have written last summer. My weight has stayed consistent as well, hovering around 230ish. I lift weights three days a week, try to hit all my muscles in those workouts.  Swimming right now is on the back burner, I may get in once a week at most.
I started getting more serious on IF (Intermittent Fasting) again.  My current weight is 219.  I was happy to get under 220, it has been a while. For 2 weeks now I have been doing about a 20 hour fast everyday and would stop eating around 5pm, that way by the time I go to bed my stomach is empty, and I will burn fat throughout the night and through the day until I break my fast at 1pm. So far it has been working out, not too bad, excited about the results.  My goal weight is 200.  I have little mini goals every week that I like to hit.  This week my goal is 217. That would be nice.  I am aiming for 2lbs a week, so we will see how it goes.
